Indian equity benchmarks extended losses during the afternoon session on Friday as investors globally awaited the US Fed Chair Janet Yellen’s speech later in the day that will offer further cues on US interest rate hike.

At 1:01 hours, the 30-share barometer index of Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex was at 27,747.55, down by 88.36 points or 0.32 per cent while the NSE Nifty was at 8,567, down by 25.2 points or 0.29 per cent.
