Indian equities are poised to open higher on Wednesday on sustained buying by foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) as well as domestic institutional investors, tracking muted cues from fellow Asian peers. In lack of any major trigger on domestic front, investors will keep an eye on macro data from China and Euro Zone to set direction for markets. Bullish trend in the SGX Nifty Index Futures for February delivery, which were trading at 8,920.50, up by 10 points or 0.11 per cent, at 10:56 AM Singapore time, also signaled a positive opening for Sensex. After strong rally in the last few sessions, the market may see some volatility as investors will rollover their position ahead of February F&O expiry on Thursday. With corporate earnings season come to an end, traders will shift focus to the outcome of the state election results for more clarity on the government's capacity to revive stalled reforms, which will set future direction for markets. The market may see stocks specific movement with Dr Reddy’s Laboratories in focus after the US Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) had made three adverse observations on completion of an audit of its active ingredients (APIs) manufacturing facility at Miryalaguda in Telangana. BEL will also remain in focus as government will sell 5 per cent stake in the company.

On Tuesday, the key equity benchmarks ended higher for the fourth straight session on late buying in Midcap and Smallcap indices. IT and Teck stocks extended buying momentum following share buyback by IT bellwether Tata Consultancy Services.
