* AGRICULTURE: India and China, in a joint proposal to the World Trade Organization, have called for elimination of trade-distorting agricultural subsidies given by developed countries.

* AUTOMOBILE: Hyundai is shifting the production of the mid-size sedan entirely from its home base to India.

* BANKING: In the first six months since the announcement of interest rate subsidy under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the National Housing Bank has disbursed 7.5 bln rupees to 96 primary lending institutions as part of subsidy
claims.

* POWER: The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission has revised the fixed charge component for 2017-18 (Apr-Mar) and kept the energy charge component unchanged.

* REGULATORY: Karnataka Real Estate Regulatory Authority has published a listof builders who have flouted regulations and advertised projects without registration.

* STEEL: Essar Steel, which is being managed by an insolvency professional pending resolution of 456.5-bln-rupee debt, has sought another 10-bln-rupee loan to keep the firm running.

* TAXATION: The central government's tax collections in July rose 22.3% on year to 1.291 trln rupees, the Controller General of Accounts said.

* TELECOMMUNICATION: The Delhi High Court has asked the Central Bureau of Investigation to "place the outcome" of its preliminary inquiry against Bharat Sanchar Nigam officials for alleged unauthorised and illegal payments to a private contractor - ZTE Telecom India. All mobile phones in the country must comply with the cyber security standards, Information and Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said.
