The Indian benchmark indices are set to open flat on Monday amid mixed cues from the Asian peers.

The Asian markets have opened on a mixed note as investors digested elections in Germany and New Zealand over the weekend, while Wall Street closed mixed in the previous trading session as health care stocks recovered most of their losses.

The markets may react to a report that foreign investors remained in exit mode as they have pulled out nearly Rs 5,500 crore from stock markets so far this month due to geopolitical concerns and a tendency to take profit.

The power sector shares will be in focus today as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to make a major announcement on power sector.

Muted trends in the SGX Nifty Index Futures for September delivery, which were trading at 9,975.50, down by 8.50 points.
