The Indian benchmark indices are set to open lower on Thursday amid weak cues from other Asian peers.

The Asian markets have opened on a lower note on growing worries that the US administration’s approach to trade is harming global economic growth, while Wall Street closed lower in the previous trading session on renewed uncertainty regarding the US stance on Chinese investments in American technology companies.

On the corporate front, telecom stocks will be in focus after a report that the gross revenue of telecom operators slipped 1.76 percent year-on-year during the quarter ending March 2018.

Also, Infosys will be in focus as it has scheduled to announce its financial results for the June quarter on July 13.

Investors will keep an eye on F&O expiry today and markets are likely to remain volatile ahead of June series expiry. On the IPO front, Puranik Builders, a Mumbai-based residential real estate developer, has filed draft papers with markets regulator Sebi to raise an estimated Rs 1,000 crore through an initial public offer. Also, seafood company Penver Products yesterday filed draft papers with markets regulator Sebi to raise funds through an initial public offering.

Muted trends in the SGX Nifty Index Futures for June delivery, which were trading at 10,657.50, down by 17.50 point.
