The key domestic benchmark indices were trading in a positive terrain in the afternoon trading session on account of buying in frontline blue chip counters ahead of F&O expiry.

The sentiments were on optimistic note after Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman pitched for as much as 200 basis points or 2 per cent, interest rate cut by RBI to help the cash-starved MSME sector.

At 12:20 AM, the Bombay Stock Exchange bellwether Sensex was at 28105.16 up by 45.22 points or by 0.16 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 8669.4 points, trading higher by 19.1 points or by 0.22 per cent.

On the global front, Asian stocks were trading higher today ahead of Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen's speech scheduled tomorrow which could provide hints about the timing of the next rate hike from the Fed. US stocks ended lower in the previous trading session as investors remained cautious awaiting a speech from Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen.
