Indian equity benchmarks are poised to open little changed on Thursday amidst a mixed trend in markets across Asia, and caution ahead of the June WPI inflation data and the start of the Q1 corporate earnings season with IT major TCS set to unveil its April-June 2016-17 quarter financial report card today. The CNX Nifty Index Futures for July delivery were trading up by 0.01 per cent or by 1 point to 8,518 at 10:45 AM Singapore time, signaling that Dalal Street may open on a flattish note today. Wholesale inflation for May 2016 stood at 0.79 per cent, marking a second straight month of faster gains. India’s consumer inflation accelerated to a 22-month high at 5.77 per cent in June 2016, diminishing hopes of a rate cut by the RBI next month.
