* AUTOMOBILE: While Energy Efficiency Services has ordered 10,000 electric vehicles from TATA MOTORS and MAHINDRA AND MAHINDRA, its plans to put the charging infrastructure in place have gone awry.

* AVIATION: Air India's operational profit rose to 2.15 bln rupees and net loss narrowed to 36.43 bln rupees in 2016- 17.

* BANKING: Noting instances of deviation by some banks, the Reserve Bank of India asked all agency banks to "scrupulously follow" all norms set in central and state government notifications.

* COAL: The coal ministry is devising methods to penalise coal block operators falling behind targeted production and revenue payment to states.

* ECONOMY: India has signed an agreement with Switzerland that would allow automatic sharing of tax-related information from Jan 1, the Central Board of Direct Taxes has said.

* INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY: Artificial Intelligence could add $957 bln to the Indian economy by 2035 changing the nature of work to create better outcomes for business, the US-based information technology company Accenture Plc said.

* INSURANCE: Increase in demand for motor, health, and protection policies will drive growth in
the insurance industry, the Reserve Bank of India has said.

* POWER: Gujarat's first wind power auction, of 500 MW capacity, has garnered good response and the tariff under such an auction was the lowest ever at 2.43 rupees per unit.

* REGULATORY: The Securities and Exchange Board of India has revived a plan to make it  mandatory for listedcompanies to disclose loan defaults as soon as they occur to stock exchanges.

* TELECOMMUNICATION: The Central Bureau Investigation said it would file an appeal before the Delhi High Court against the trial court's order in alleged 2G scam in "due course". The Telecom Commission has discussed the proposal to allow 100% foreign direct investment in the sector through automatic route.
