Indian equities are likely to open lower on Friday, tracking bearish cues from Nifty futures on the Singapore Stock Exchange and weak trading across Asian markets. The Asian stocks were trading mostly lower after Wall Street ended lower in overnight trade, as investors awaited corporate earnings, while uncertainty over the Trump administration's policies also dented investor sentiment. In the overnight trade, US Stocks ended lower as disappointing earnings by technology companies dragged US indexes off their record highs. Back home, bearish trend in the SGX Nifty Index Futures for August delivery, which were trading at 9,998.50, down by 73.50 points or 0.74 per cent, at 11:02 AM Singapore time, also signaled a negative opening for local bourses. On the economy front, the government has raised approx Rs 535 crore by disinvesting 15 per cent stake in National Fertilizers Ltd through an offer of sale, which happens to be the third such offer by a PSU in this financial year. Investors will react to earnings report of big companies such as ICICI Bank, ITC, ONGC, Idea Cellular which reported their result after market hour on Thursday. On the earnings front, big companies like Larsen & Toubro, Escorts, India Cements, NIIT and Zuari Agro Chemicals, will announce their June quarter results today.
