Indian benchmark indices are likely to open lower on Tuesday, tracking bearish cues from Nifty futures on the Singapore Stock Exchange and soft cues from global peers. Markets across Asia were trading mostly lower after Wall Street ended in negative terrain in overnight trade. Japan’s Nikkei 225 continued gaining momentum on Tuesday as investor cheered election victory of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's ruling coalition. The caution also prevailed in the market as traders awaited the European Central Bank's policy meeting on Thursday, where the central bank may announce plan to taper its quantitative easing program. Back home, bearish trend in the SGX Nifty Index Futures for October delivery, which were trading at 10,188.00, down by 12.00 points.
