Pre Session: Sensex, Nifty to open positive; DHFL shares in focus

The Indian domestic benchmark indices are likely to open positive on Monday taking cues from Asian peers, also the trends on SGX Nifty indicate a positive opening for the broader index in India. Stocks rallied and bonds retreated in Asia on Monday as a thaw in the Sino-US trade dispute tempered risks to the global economy, leading investors to pare wagers on aggressive policy easing by the major central banks. The dollar gained on the safe-haven yen as Treasury yields jumped and futures reined in bets for a half-point rate cut from the US Federal Reserve this month. Wall Street advanced in heavy trading on Friday, with the S&P 500 and the Dow closing the book on their best June in generations, ahead of much-anticipated trade talks between US President Donald Trump and Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping at the G20 summit now underway in Japan. Back home, bullish trends in the SGX Nifty Index Futures for July delivery, which were trading at 11,857.00 up by 19.00 points.
