Pre-Session: Sensex, Nifty likely to start on positive note today

Indian benchmarks are expected to start the day on a positive note on Tuesday, after Wall Street's main benchmark indexes hit record highs overnight on signs of progress in U.S.-China trade talks.
Asian markets also traded higher this morning while safe-haven assets such as the yen, the Swiss franc and gold eased. MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan rose 0.2 per cent. Australian shares were up 0.59 per cent, while Japan's Nikkei stock index rose 0.78 per cent.
On Monday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 40889.23 up by 529.82 points or by 1.31 % and then NSE Nifty was at 12073.75 up by 159.35 points.
