Pre-Session: Sensex may open slightly lower; PSU Banks in focus

Indian equities may open flat to lower on Friday, tracking muted trends in SGX Nifty Index Futures and mixed cues from global peers. Overseas, the Asian stocks were trading lower, following a weak US session on Thursday as the rising threat of a US government shutdown and of further hikes in U.S. borrowing costs inflamed investor unease over the economic outlook. That apart, investors are likely to keep a tab on crude oil prices, movement in rupee against dollar and other global cues. Back home, muted trends in the SGX Nifty Index Futures for December delivery, which were trading at 10,966.00, down by 28.00 points.
